Flooring for offices
Granab is often used in offices to meet current acoustic requirements both between the floor levels and between the different rooms. We supply office projects with subfloors made of both wood, often CLT, and concrete. You get comfortable floors and can hide installations in the floor construction in an effective way.

Granab subfloor system for offices
The floor in an office is a central element and has a direct impact on the working environment. An office should have functional and aesthetically pleasing flooring. The choice depends on the specific needs of the office, with different types suiting different office environments. Granab offers advanced subfloor systems that create optimal conditions for modern flooring, regardless of the type of flooring.
Acoustics and working environment
Sound affects productivity in the workplace. The Granab system meets the sound requirements for offices according to SS 25268 by a wide margin. The effective impact- and airborne sound insulation offered by the system is essential in office environments where many people work close to each other.
Granab easily meets sound class B, which is a common requirement when choosing flooring for offices.
Comfortable flooring with built-in shock absorption promotes a better working environment. It is important that the floor is not too hard, as this can cause back and leg pain.
Different types of office flooring
Office flooring must be durable and able to withstand daily wear and tear. There are many different materials that are suitable for different environments. Vinyl flooring and LVT are popular choices that offer high functionality and attractive designs. These types of flooring are particularly well suited to environments where aesthetics and practicality are important. Parquet and laminate are also popular choices for many companies’ offices.
Common floor structures
Offices belong to premises category B according to En Eurocodes load category requirements. This means that 38 mm chipboard, 2×22 mm boards or a Gifafloor FHB 25 are required to meet the requirement. This applies to parquet and carpet as floor coverings.
For parquet and carpet, a c/c distance of 600 mm between girders is usually used. However, this can vary depending on several factors.

Environment and sustainability
The Granab system has up to 50% less CO2 impact than casted concrete and is environmentally certified (EPD). Granab offers systems consisting solely of non-organic materials, which means they can be stored outdoors without being affected by temperature fluctuations and weather conditions.
The system’s low weight of only 5 kg/m² can be compared to conventional casting, which weighs around 100-200 kg/m². This makes our system particularly suitable for spaces with weight restrictions.
Granab is demountable, which allows for reuse not only of the system, but also of installations and floor slabs/CLT.
Flexibility and customisation
Granab’s subfloor system has a variable construction height of 30-480 mm. We can offer a floor construction that is even higher, as Masonite or LVL beams are often laid across the Granab system. The system is also suitable for various heating systems and offers a wide range of options. Please contact us if you have any questions about floors at high heights or underfloor heating systems.
There are many different ways to adapt the system to the needs of your office. Flexible cable routing facilitates installation, and since the installations are located on the slab/CLT without being cast in, they are easily accessible for future renovations.
