Ventilated subfloor
- Possibility of 40 mm ventilation ducts in the floor
- Can be combined with ventilated walls
- Drawings with calculated airflow
The Granab system is an excellent choice for renovations linked to moisture or mould damage. Our systems for this type of project are made of galvanised steel and are consistently made of non-organic material, which is necessary for this type of project. With easy height adjustment of the subfloor system, it’ll be adapted to your home while continuously ventilating the air in the space between the slab and floorboards. It is easy to install and has many positive advantages compared to subfloor systems made of organic material. Below you can see a video of how our solution works in practice.
Common areas of use
The system can be fully customised according to the requirements of your premises
You decide:
- Overfloor construction
- Fan placement
- Type of air inlet, floor or wall grille
- Typ av inluftsdon, golvdon eller vägg-galler
- Air inlet placement
- Internal fan or facade fan
Ventilated flooring – An effective solution against moisture and mould
- Possibility of 40 mm ventilation ducts in the floor
- Can be combined with ventilated wall solution
- Clear drawings with calculated airflow
The Granab system is an excellent choice for renovations related to moisture or mould damage. Our systems for this type of project are made of galvanised steel and are consistently made of non-organic material, which is necessary for this type of project. With smooth height adjustment of the subfloor system, it adapts to your home while continuously ventilating the air in the space between the lower and upper floors. It is easy to install and has many advantages over subfloor systems made of organic material. Below you can see a video of how our solution works in practice.
Installation of Granab ventilated subfloor
What are ventilated floors and how do they work?
Ventilated floors create an air gap on top of the concrete slab that is continuously ventilated by a fan. The system works by moving air from the room into the air gap via negative pressure, where the moisture and other emissions are transported away from the building through ventilation ducts. The fan is a central component that creates negative pressure and effectively extracts bad air from the floor structure. This mechanically ventilated floor is particularly important in basements and houses with slabs on grade where problems with moisture often occur.
Advantages of Granab ventilated floors
Effective moisture management
Our mechanically ventilated flooring solves the problems of damp, odour and mould that many houses suffer from. By ventilating the moisture directly from the source, you get a healthier indoor climate. The system also removes radon and other dangerous gases often found in soil and concrete slabs.
Dimensionally stable galvanised steel girders
Granab subfloor systems are made from non-organic materials that are not affected by moisture or temperature changes. This is important because organic materials such as wood can be damaged by moisture and create additional problems in the house. Our galvanised steel girders retain their shape and provide a long-term solution.

Flexible installation
The system can be customised to your specific needs with an adjustable construction height from 30-480 mm. You decide the positioning of the fan, type of air inlet and upper floor construction. The Granab system also facilitates future renovations as it is easy to access installations in the floor construction. It is an excellent choice for those who want flexibility and the ability to customise the floor for future renovations.
The system can be customised according to the requirements of your premises
Our ventilated flooring can also be combined with other systems to solve different types of problems in the house. For example, you can add insulation, underfloor heating and other customisations on top of the system, giving you maximum flexibility for your living or working environment.

Galvanised steel girders
Galvanised steel has many advantages over organic materials when it comes to projects related to moisture or mould damage. Galvanised steel girders retain their dimensional stability and are not affected by moisture or temperature changes. In addition, it eliminates the risk of creaking or unwanted failure that can be caused by drying out or moisture exposure of floor girders in organic materials, such as wood joists. As the Granab system is made of non-organic material throughout and is not affected by moisture, you can rest assured that it is a long-term solution that will live up to your expectations.
Ventilated floor
Granab in combination with mechanical ventilation allows you to efficiently ventilate away any moisture and emissions from the slab.
Technical benefits of our subfloor system
Low weight and high performance
The Granab system weighs only 5kg/m² compared to conventional casting which weighs 100-200kg/m². This makes the system ideal for attics and extensions where weight is a critical factor.
Sound dampening properties
In addition to ventilation, our ventilated floors also provide excellent impact and airborne sound insulation. The system fulfils the sound requirements of Swedish standards by a large margin, which is important for a good living and working environment.
Environmentally friendly choice
Our subfloor system has up to 50% less CO2 impact than concrete and is EPD (Environmental Product Declared). As the material is non-organic, you don’t have to worry about moisture creating new problems in the floor construction.
Ventilated subfloor
Granab in combination with mechanical ventilation allows you to effectively ventilate away any moisture and emissions from the floor.
Granab also offers a wall-mounted ventilation grille. It is a common solution for ventilated subfloors in schools.
The air is spread over the slab surface by means of perforated ducts placed on the slab.

The fans offered by Granab are approved by Byggvarubedömningen.
The air in the floor construction flows over the slab surface to a perforated duct connected to an exhaust fan.
