Apartments

A good living environment is characterized by floors that are neither hard nor completely rigid, as this can lead to shoulder, back and leg pain. Granab, with its in-built shock-absorbing effect, creates comfortable floors that have a documented degree of deflection under point loads.

Deflection at point loads in floors with Granab depends on the structure of the subfloor system, the ccc distance between the girders, and the choice of floor surface layer. Manufacturers of floor finishes indicate specific deflection, and SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden recommends that deflection at a point load of 1 kN should not exceed 2-3 mm. Granab subfloor system is tested and certified by SP; contact Granab for type approval no. 192101.

Granab with 22 mm chipboard and 15 mm parquet or 22 mm parquet, has been tested by SP for deflection in finished floors in several housing projects. The results show an average deflection of less than 2 mm at a point load of 1 kN. Granab can provide measurement protocols from both field and laboratory measurements, which show that all results are within recommended values.

S-7000N25 on concrete floors

To ensure that the sound requirements between apartments are met, Granab is the best solution in terms of sound insulation and environmental impact and can be used on different types floor constructions, both concrete and CLT. The installations are hidden in the space between the concrete or CLT and the floorboards in a neat and cost-effective way.

Over 4.000.000m² of Granab is installed in various projects of apartment blocks. One example is Karlatornet in Gothenburg, the tallest building in Scandinavia, where we have delivered to all
apartments.
There are several solutions with underfloor heating, both electric and waterborne, which can be installed as a system together with our girders.
The type of floor construction, concrete or CLT, determines the choice of Granab system, our dampening element can be supplied in different thicknesses to meet the current sound requirements.
