Dungen

Granab has delivered subfloor systems to the office areas in the Dungen project at Södra’s facility in Värö, just north of Varberg. The project primarily involves the delivery of Granab’s 8000W12 system, an adjustable wooden subfloor system developed to create stable and flexible raised floor constructions with good acoustic performance. Delivery will take place in spring 2026.

The system will be installed in the building’s office environments, where the requirements for acoustics, installation flexibility and constructability are high. The raised construction makes it possible to easily integrate installations into the floor while creating an even and stable floor surface in the building.

Dungen is a new wooden building in Södra’s industrial area in Värö and will serve as a central hub for both employees and visitors. The building covers approximately 9,000 m² and includes offices, a restaurant, a gym, changing rooms, a visitor centre, and conference and training facilities.

The frame is constructed from cross-laminated timber (CLT) and glulam, making the project a clear example of modern and sustainable timber construction. The timber is produced from raw materials sourced from family-owned forests and processed locally in Värö, which helps to reduce the building’s climate impact while storing carbon dioxide in the structure.

The architecture is inspired by the forest – with a dark façade in heat-treated spruce panelling and a warm interior where wood plays a central role. The interior creates bright and functional working environments where the choice of materials and construction contribute to a pleasant working environment.
